Simanim Salad Topper
Our Simanim Salad is a vibrant and symbolic dish perfectly suited for Rosh Hashanah, embodying the traditional foods known as "simanim" that represent hopes and blessings for the new year. This salad combines a variety of fresh, kosher ingredients, each chosen for their symbolic significance and complementary flavors.
The salad topper includes sliced apples, known for their sweetness, symbolize the wish for a sweet year ahead. Adding to the festive touch, we include julienned carrots and pomegranate seeds. Carrots represent a desire for increased blessings and prosperity, while pomegranate seeds symbolize the hope for a year filled with as many merits as the seeds in the fruit. Dates so that our haters perish and beets so that our enemies be removed. Pumpkin seeds as the gourd so the bad decrees should be torn and our merits be proclaimed before You. To enhance the salad, we incorporate thinly sliced red onions, which offer a sharp contrast.
The salad is dressed with a light vinaigrette made from extra virgin olive oil, a splash of apple cider vinegar, and a touch of honey, tying together the sweet and savory elements while reinforcing the wish for a sweet new year.
The Simanim Salad Topper is designed to be added to a bed of greens. Top your favorite lettuce or herb salad with our topper to complete your salad and enhance your Yom Tov.
